We rented a Jimny through Sun Valley for our first trip to Costa Rica this past December. We were so pleased with their services from start to finish. This is the second time I have been to Costa Rica and the first time I have used Sun Valley. The difference between Sun Valley and my first experience was night and day. I can't say enough good things about Sun Valley. They gave me the car I actually reserved, no hidden fees or pricing, and they were totally flexible on pick up/drop off logistics. They also communicate clearly and in a timely manner. They are great!!
Our car rental experience was exceptional! It was actually the best experience we have had and much better than rental companies from Europe. Special thanks to Alex, who was welcoming and helpful (even in our personal tasks). All the process was very clear and we never had any problem with the car despite the challenging road conditions. The transaction went very smooth and the pricing was fair. I highly recommend this car rental company, they have a good choice of car types like SUV's and 4x4's.

Great experience! I rented a suzuki Jinny, but Sun Valley upgraded the car to a Grand Suzuki at no extra cost. When I landed, they brought the car to the airport, and when I returned the car, it was really fast to check out and the drove me directly to the airport. I will use them again for sure.
Sun Valley was an amazing car rental experience; reasonable price, good selection of vehicles, prompt communication, and outstanding customer service. We were met at the airport by their representative, taken directly to our car, given pertinent information about the vehicle and what to do in case of emergency, and away we went. Returning the vehicle at the airport was easy and convenient. Highly recommended!!!
Highly recommend Sun Valley Rent A Car! We rented their new Suzuki Jimny for 8 days in November. From the beginning they were super responsive to my questions, they made the reservation process easy, we were met right at the airport and were off on our way in no time. We loved the vehicle and had no problems at all. It had 4x4 but we really didn’t need it, I think we tried it one time. The return was equally as easy, right at the airport. Zero negatives and only great things to say about Sun Valley. I work in tourism as well so am really particular. Thank you Sun Valley!! We will definitely recommmend you!

Sun Valley Rentals were so helpful right from the start. The car was a good price and we got lucky with a brand new vehicle. They were happy to make our life that little bit easier by bringing the car to our hotel near the airport and also collecting it from there. Hello, my family and I spent 3 weeks in Costa Rica in several places and we used Sun Valley Rent A Car to rent a car for our entire stay. I can only recommend this company. Their service was perfect in terms of cooperation, email communication , and monetary terms. The car was personally handed over and collected at our accommodation by the helpful Mr Alex. The company's proximity to the San Jose airport is also a big advantage. In the past, I have repeatedly had negative experiences with large and established car rental companies and this new Costa Rican experience also convinced me that it is better to use a smaller, but much better cooperating company. Fantastic service! We hired a 4x4 from them for a 12 day period and were met at the airport by Alex who dropped off the car, provided local advice, guidance and talked us through the car's details. We were sent a video walk round of the car to ensure transparency and sent on our way with a full tank of fuel. The car was perfect - almost brand new and was a pleasure to drive...and drive it we did, covering a vast area during our trip.We dropped it back at the airport on departure, was again met by Alex who quickly confirmed everything was ok, returned our deposit and wished us well.During booking the communication was exemplary with a reminder sent through the week before and clear collection instructions provided. Honestly, the best service I've received from a car rental company...and we've travelled a lot!! If only they rented outside Costa Rica!!
Customer Service and the price was great. Alex dropped rental car at our hotel and drove us to the airport when we brought the car back. I was disappointed with our vehicle. It was an older model with a lot of miles and no gps. I had to buy a cell phone mount for the car to use for navigation.

We had the best experience with Sun Valley and would recommend them to anyone renting in Costa Rica! Their pricing is very transparent and all of the liability coverage, taxes and fees were included in the original quote. They delivered the car to us upon arrival and met us at departures to drop off the car so everything was very easy and convenient with no shuttles needed. They took the time to explain the car, driving in Costa Rica, and made themselves available during the entire duration of our rental with amazing communication. We look forward to using them again in the future.
Really enjoyed my experience with Sun Valley. Aaron delivered the vehicle to my hotel and took the time to explain me everything, gave me a lot of tips for driving in Costa Rica and answered all my questions. I was really confident leaving with the vehicle and knowing there was a roadside assistance if needed. It was in good shape, clean, and never let me down for my 12 day trip. The return went as well as the delivery. The prices are really fair, including insurance, I had a small automatic SUV with a/c, bluetooth connection and even a cooler included. When I checked other popular companies, it was more expensive even for a smaller car. Having an SUV is definitely a plus in Costa Rica. I absolutely recommend Sun Valley Rent a car and will do business with them again if I come back!
